DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Residence Visa Work Permit Change of Residence Certificate or acknowledgment of company transfer "Attestation reservation de cale" Letter of Financial Responsibility Original inventory in French, valued, detailed, and dated and signed by customer
  • Letter of Financial Responsibility

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

  • CUSTOMER'S PRESENCE IN THE COUNTRY IS REQUIRED TO CLEAR SHIPMENT All personal effects (private, military or diplomatic) subject to customs tax, based on CIF value
  • Value of shipment must not exceed $4.00 per pound gross

DUTIABLE/RESTRICTED ITEMS

  • All electrical/electronic items and furniture less than six months old are dutiable and taxable. Invoices are required as proof of age.
  • Home computers are not accepted as personal effects and will be subject to duties and taxes

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Alcohol and other spirits are prohibited and should be sent separately Weapons, ammunition, drugs
  • Books, films, pictures may be subject to censorship and confiscation if found to be contrary to local customs or religious beliefs

MOTOR VEHICLES

  • Import license required for new cars and import declaration for cars less than one year old
  • Duty is very high and is based on engine capacity and on local CIF value of car

PETS

  • Health Certificate from veterinarian required
